Company Background

Eugene Thuraisingam, a former partner of Allen & Gledhill, founded the firm in 2012 as Eugene Thuraisingam LLP. Suang Wijaya succeeded him as head of the firm in January 2024 and now leads it as Managing Director. On 1 January 2026, Eugene Thuraisingam Asia LLC took over the practice, a change that reflects the firm’s growing work in Singapore, Greater China and Southeast Asia.

Pro bono advocacy has formed part of the firm’s work since its founding. The firm acts for death row inmates and in public interest litigation, and it secured the acquittal of a man on death row through the reopening of a concluded criminal appeal, a step without precedent in Singapore. The firm received the Champions of Good Award in 2024.
